
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Aug. 4, 2025 – Kearney & Company, a premier audit, consulting, and technology firm focused on the government, announced today that the firm has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of industry veteran John Short as its Executive Vice President, Chief Growth Officer. In this role, Mr. Short will help shape and execute the firm’s long-term expansion roadmap and projected revenue goals as it continues to grow.
Mr. Short brings nearly 30 years of professional experience to Kearney, including 25 years of supporting the federal government, most recently at EY as the Global Client Service Partner for the United States Navy. At the beginning of his career, Mr. Short served in the United States Army as an Intelligence Analyst. He also worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Grant Thornton before joining EY in 2013 as a direct admit partner. At EY, he held multiple leadership positions, including leading the US Public Sector Assurance Practice, serving as the Department of Defense sector lead, and serving on both the Americas and Global Client Service Partner Boards.
A Certified Public Accountant and Certified Governmental Financial Manager, Mr. Short has expertise in federal financial statement audits, performance audits, audit readiness, and remediation.
