Kearney Employee Spotlight with Sean McCue

“My favorite part about working for Kearney is definitely the people.”

What is your favorite part about working for Kearney?

My favorite part about working for Kearney is definitely the people. I’ve worked with many incredibly smart and talented people in my time at Kearney who have never been too busy to help out or provide guidance when I’ve needed it. When you spend so much time working closely with one another, having great coworkers who are willing to go all-in to help the team succeed really makes going to work every day a lot easier.

How has Kearney been invested in the development of your career?

Kearney not only provided me opportunities to take on more responsibilities and advance my career, they provided numerous in-house and external training opportunities to support my professional development to ensure I would be successful. In addition, I took advantage of the mentoring programs Kearney offered to connect with mentors who became invaluable resources in providing insight on simple questions related to my day-to-day job, and also in helping me figure out longer term goals that helped me advance my career.

What are three things you cannot live without?

My wife and kids – they remind me on a daily basis not to take myself or work too seriously. I mean, how can I be stressed out about work when my daughter tells me that I have the same job as the Count from Sesame Street?

Coffee – My kids don’t like to sleep nearly as much as I do, so coffee is an absolute must. Whoever came up with the idea that a cup of coffee is only 6 ounces clearly didn’t have little kids.

A camera – Whether I’m using the camera on my phone or a DLSR, I always have a camera with me to capture photos of places I’ve visited or funny things my kids are doing.

If you were to host a dinner party, what three celebrity guests would you invite?

Larry Fitzgerald – The greatest WR of all-time, and the rightful winner of the 2003 Heisman Trophy. Hail to Pitt!

Gus Johnson – I’d like to find out if he can narrate the job of an accountant and make it sound exciting. If anyone can do it, it’s him. DOES IT RECONCILEEE?! YES!

Bill Murray – Who wouldn’t want to hang out with Bill Murray if they had the chance? I’m sure his stories would be epic.
