Community Outreach Events
Registration is open and fundraising is underway for Kearney’s team participating in the 2013 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Washington, D.C.! The Susan G. Komen organization is the largest network of breast cancer survivors and activists world-wide, and has raised over $1.9 billion for breast cancer research and awareness since its inception in 1982. Funds raised as part of the Washington, D.C. Race for the Cure are granted to local organizations that support breast cancer screening, treatment, and awareness. This year’s race is taking place on Saturday, May 11, 2013 on a 3.1 mile course around the National Mall.
As many the lives of our employees or their friends and family members have been impacted by breast cancer in some way, this is a cause that Kearney has avidly supported for the past eight years, and this year is no different! This year we have set a goal of raising $2,500 in donations. As always, we welcome and encourage employees to invite family and friends to participate in this event, whether by donating or participating. For more information on the race, including how to register and donate, please visit Kearney’s team page by clicking here.
